LEARNING MORE ABOUT STARCHASER DESIGN!

When I first started designing websites, it was only a hobby.

I was working for a limousine company for 10 years, and our company then needed a website. We had looked around for a provider that could produce a website for us on a low budget.
But we weren't able to find what we were looking for. After
spending so much time on the internet anyways, and putting
up some of my writings online, I had managed to talk my
employer into letting me design our site.

So after a month or so of my countless hours of working with
the company, and then going home to work on the site itself,
we launched the internet presence of the company!

Our site took off as we locally promoted it to our clients, to
use the features like reservations, and driver comments. Our
clients loved the site and the ability to make a reservation right
online.

Month's had passed before something drastic happened.
On September 16, 2001, the man I had worked for for 10 years
passed away one Sunday morning at his kitchen table of a massive heart attack. The company as we knew it would slowly come to
a close. Cars were sold, the website was taken down and replaced
with a "We will miss you page". It was a sad time in all of our lives.

It was only four months later that I decided to give it my best shot
at continuing on with something that I found I loved so much.
The ability to do whatever I want with a blank page, still amazes
me to this day.

"It's still fun to open my designing software and think - what am I going to produce today!"

I approached a local company who was in need of a site redesign
and told them that I was looking to assist them with their needs.
After going through a bit of torture of being hammered by vigorous
questions about my abilities, I was hired to redesign their website.

It was only four months after that, that I was twenty clients
into this new business and was spending countless hours on the
internet learning, developing, and producing websites.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED

When coming into this industry, I never really knew much about designing a professional website. I didn't go to school for it or get my Bachelor's Degree for computer science. But what I did get was
old fashion, hard earned experience. That in itself is extremely
important in today's market.

I have spent the countless hours learning, not by someone teaching
me the common law of how it should be done, along with their own
little quirks about how things should be done. But I learned from
one of the most important things in life... "doing!"

From search engine optimizations, to html coding, to networking,
php development, database construction, and more. I've constantly
worked to learn as much as I could within this industry to keep up
with the times. And I am glad that I have!

So when you are making a decision about whether to use my services or not, here are a few things to consider.

I've learned how to:

  • Code HTML
  • SEO (Search Engine Optimize)
  • Server Administration
  • Work under a L.A.M.P. envoirnment
    (Linux, Apache, mySQL, PHP)
  • Develop dynamic pages with PHP
  • Customize the needs of a client
  • Produce websites that rank well within engines
  • How to get to the top of engines quickly
  • How to properly do ecommerce work
  • ...and so much more.

So it's seven years later, and here you are sitting here reading this trying to determine whether I am the right person for your project.
My only single question to you is this:

"Wouldn't you rather have someone who has the experience to complete your project?"
